At eight o clock tonight, inside Radio City Music Hall in New York City dreams will become reality! The first round of the NFL draft will take place tonight featuring some of the most elite college football players becoming pros! Now we know that the Indianapolis Colts will select Andrew Luck with the first overall pick in the draft. There has been a little bit of controversy over the choice of picking Luck over Robert Griffin III. RG3 has had better stats in almost every aspect of the game than Luck this pass season. With Luck going to the Colts it leaves the Washington Redskins with the availability of getting RG3. So as any smart GM would do they will pick him up.
Minnesota has the third pick in the draft and many predict that they will select Matt Kalil the left tackle from USC. The Vikings have no need to pick up a quarterback since they got Christian Ponder from FSU last year; now, they need protection food the QB. Then again they don’t really have a good defense like they use to. Another great option for the Vikings could be the Corner Back from LSU, Morris Clabiborne. Morris would add the extra umf into their play that could make them a serious threat. The Vikings have to now worry about Brandon Marshall who was traded to Chicago Bears not to long ago. So I would pick Clabiborne over Kalil who many think they will pick.
Next on the clock would be the Cleveland Browns. The Browns have had poor production from their offense in the last couple of years, the only good player was Hillis who was injured most of last season. They have options that would make sense here; choosing Justin Blackmon (the wide receiver from Oklahoma State), Trent Richardson (the running back from Alabama), or Ryan Tannehilll (the QB out of Texas A&M). Honestly, in my opinion they should pick Richardson or Blackmon. think about it who do they have in the RB or WR position? No one really. Josh Cribbs isn’t really a threat at the Wide out position, maybe at the kick return position but not at the Wide out position. Then, again they are looking like a better team on paper and on the field when it comes to the wide out position then the running back position. They have Montario Hardesty and Chris Ogbonnaya two no name guys (no offense). So logically they should pick Richardson since they need a factor in the running game.
At the Fifth pick in the draft Tampa Bay has the power to make someone a Buccaneer. If the Choice is available they will choose Claiborne they have a pretty good offensive game and the Defense is slacking. They could also pick Fletcher Cox out of Mississippi. Whatever they do they need a defensive addition.
