After previously having the idea of running for president, Miami Heat Superstar LeBron James has decided against running for the National Basketball Player Association according to sources that told ESPN.

What is it that is driving James away from the presidential seat? His availability and time to dedicate to the union. He wants someone who can better focus on the NBPA in that situation.

“I think my voice could be huge in that situation. But I’m not sure I have the time to do it but it’s something I’m going to think about with my team and go from there. But I think we all can agree there’s been a lot of transition in our union in the last couple of years. If it’s not me in that seat then I hope it’s someone who is comfortable with it and can do the job,” said James.

So who could fill the seat since James won’t be? Maybe Jerry Stackhouse who is currently a executive member of the NBPA. He seems to be making a little noise in the Union by saying, “To make that statement about where we are as a union right now (As James said was backwards), he was misinformed.” Or could it end up being team mate James Jones. Jones is as of right now treasurer of Union. Jones seems to want to peruse the position and would have time since he isn’t such a big star.

Even with James not taking the seat, he along with other NBA stars will need to make their voice heard because within the next year there are a couple of potential big decisions that will be made. That will include a new age requirement and drug testing policy change.

The NBA scoring champion Carmelo Anthony  is one step closer to moving on to the second round of the playoffs since joining the New York Knicks.

The Knicks who earlier in the season beat the Boston Celtics out of top seed in the Atlantic Division have now put the pressure back on Celtics as the Knicks took game one in New York, 85-78 as the heated rivalry between the two teams continues.  Anthony who averaged a league leading 28.7 points per game during the regular season started out his postseason as he’s done all season exploding for points, 36 to be exact. Anthony also contributed with six rebounds, four steals and one assist.

“It’s a wonderful feeling to know that we got our first win of the series here on our home court, took care of that business, It was real important for us to come out and get this first win,” said Anthony who lead the Knicks to their first 1-0 playoff start since the 200-2001 NBA post season.

If it wasn’t for Anthonys’ quick start to the game and late burst this series could belong to the Celtics, who are without All star point guard Rajon Rondo.

J.R smith was also a key to success for the Knicks as he added 15 points and 5 rebounds.

The Celtics looked to Jeff Green as they kept up with New York for most of the game. Green who lead Boston with 26 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 assists was helped by team captain Paul Pierce who scored 21 points, 7 rebounds, 5 rebounds and a steal.

If Boston wants to win the series, which probably won’t happen they need a better performance from big man Kevin Garentt who played 37 minutes and only scored 8 points. Again the older Celtics are showing their age, they aren’t doing as expected when you compare them to the oldest team in the league, the San Antonio Spurs. This will be an interesting series to watch as the pressure is now on Boston

This Miami Heat have officially moved on to the second round; the Heat beat the NewYork Knicks in game five.

It was the big plays from Heat Forward Chris Bosh that blazed Miami into the second round where they will face the Indiana Pacers.  Bosh finished this game with 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 steal. Ever since Bosh has had a child he’s become a whole new player. We have never seen this tenaciousness and explosiveness coming from him.

Dwyane Wade also finished with 19 points; showing us how great he really is. Wade hit back to back to back shots during the second quarter, and it seemed as if he couldn’t be stopped. Then, his defensive game became a major factor for New York as he recorded 2 blocks. Wade also finished the game with four rebounds. Expect him to keep fire as they continue into the second round.

Lebron James was the most productive player for the Heat yet again, bringing down rebounds, dishing 7 assist, swipping away 2 steals, swatting away a shot, and scoring 29 points. Yet somehow, despite the good efforts on defense by Lebron, Carmelo was able to score a remarkable 35 points. After the game Lebron stated that, “We will savor this win tonight, and then we get to work tomorrow and get ready for Indiana.” He shows exactly how dedicated he is as his quest for a championship ring continues.

This game was a well fought game both offensively and defensively.  It was a critical game for Miami, if New York would have won, the series would have been 2-1, then, they would have to go back to New York where the Knicks could have forced a game seven, and inevitably pull off a come back win to move on; Something only a select few teams have been able to accomplish before. Finishing it off at home gives Miami time to rejuvenate and get ready for the Pacers in round 2.

Miami is truly showing that they have what it takes to win it all.

Today at 3:30 pm est the Miami Heat will try and add the final blow to knock out the New York Knicks at the Garden. Miami has a 3-0 series lead on New York and look to sweep the series. The Heat know that they’re going to have to come out guns blazing if they want to win this one, because New York is going to give it their all, 110% because it will be the first time in the history of this rivalry that there will be a sweep. Now as we know Lebron, Wade and Bosh will be big key factors in today’s game if they plays like he did on Thursday, but look for James Jones, Mike Miller, and Udonis Haslem to come out strong for Miami also. When it comes to New York, Carmelo will be the big factor, if he can get going like he did during the regular season vs the Heat expect New York to pull away with the victory in tonight’s game. When Melo spoke to the press yesterday he said this,”Not winning at all, it hurts, I feel that, I go home at night, I think about that. But right now my focus is for tomorrow. Them three games is behind us, and tomorrow is all we’ve got.” He then went on to say,” It won’t sit well, if you get swept it’s embarrassing because you’ve come in and weren’t able to get one game from a team; so I definitely don’t want to go down like that. With all this talk from Melo I expect them to come away with a win tonight even though I’m a Heat fan. New York is going to show us something we have never seen from them before and I think it’s going to catch Miami by surprise. Amare Stoudemire is a game time decision, he had taken part in full practice yesterday so I think he will get some minutes tonight.

After the 10 point loss to the Miami Heat, The New York Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire decided to take out his anger on the glass cover for the fire extinguisher. Amare was seen leaving the stadium with a sling on, and is believed to have stitches. What a dumb move on Amare’s part, he could miss the rest of the series. Not only did him punching the glass hurt him, it hurt his team. New York is down two games to none to Miami and is on the verge of getting swept. Although, Mike Woodson, coach of the Knicks strictly told the media after the game that he wouldn’t take about the subject of what exactly Stoudemire did and If he though he was going to miss any time; Woodson did say that Amare’s hand didn’t appear to be broken. Tyson Chandler who has been playing through the series with a flu said this about Stoudemire, ” I do think he’ll (Amare) will miss time.”If  Amare misses any playing time, it would be the second blow to the Knicks since they lost Iman Shumpert due to a torn ACL. But could him missing Amare actually benefit the Knicks? Carmelo Anthony seems to do a whole lot better when Amare isn’t on the floor with him. Even with the major blow I think the Knicks can pull a win in at the Garden on Wednesday, but Miami will take the series.

As the Heat blew out New York in the first game by a remarkable 33 points, it became a game for the history books as it was Miami’s second largest win in playoff history. Now the two teams are back at it tonight at the American Airlines Arena in Miami. Does Miami take a 2-0 lead on the Knicks? Does New York stop the blazing Heat and even up the series? What will happen tonight?

In yesterdays game one of the Heat vs Knicks playoff series you definitively felt the tensions between these two teams really flare up, just like the old times. It started out with Amare Stoudemire jawing at Udonis Haslem and getting double technical. Then, just moments later Shane Battier carried out very bitter foul on Carmelo Anthony which then Baron Davis came up and pushed Battier. This was a physical game all around. It wasn’t the type of atmosphere Carmelo was use to, and that caused him to struggle missing his first eight shots of the night. Once Miami got on a roll it seemed like New York was trying to injure Lebron and Wade intentionally. Tyson Chandler set a very dirty pick/shove on Lebron which caused him to fall to the ground and give him whip-lash. That didn’t seem to impede Lebron’s performance, he would go on to finish the game with 32 points. Yet, Lebron held Melo to a lilliputian amount of 11 points (missing 12-15 from the court). Tyson almost got a double technical which would have resulted in an automatic ejection from the game, but the refs called it back after review saying it was just an ordinary technical foul. Miami would go on a 24 to 2 run after that hit on Lebron (who continued to play).Wade collided with Davis while bring up the ball, it look like he had just thrown his body into Wade. Then  the Knicks fell victim to injury/payback when one of their most productive players Iman Shumpert tried crossing over Mario Chalmers and he tore his ACL,I wish him a fast and healthy recovery. Once a player tears any ligament in their knee they just never seem to come back 100%. Now back to Wade and the Miami Heat, who were very productive scoring 19 points in his first game back from dislocating his finger. Miami handed New York their worse playoff lost since 91. Miami’s 100-67 win was the second largest in Heat history, a 33 points victory. Even though this was a blowout win I don’t expect a series sweep, look for New York to play with an even greater intensity and aggressiveness when these two meet again tomorrow night in Miami, then they go back to New York for games 3 and 4 where I expect them to pull in a win against the Heat.

O yea by the way, it seems that it pays to sit court side because every one who did in yesterdays game got a pair of Lebron 9 Elites (playoffs), which released in stores yesterday for $250.
